If you are looking for a wedding videographer it is probable that you will be interested also, if not mostly, in their work method. Indeed, it is a perfectly comprehensible approach. The day of the “I do” is too important to leave that to chance. Offering a proven work method is something more that the couples appreciate, because it gives them reassurance over a fundamental aspect: that a professional will be working to preserve their memories.
MY WORK METHOD
Having a work method is very important for a wedding videomaker. Mine is made up of five points (which I also love to call “principles”) that can be adapted to the needs of each case.
- LISTENING TO THE COUPLE
Talking with the couple helps me understand their needs. What are they expecting from my work? Do they want me to capture certain specific moments? Are there going to be particular events during the ceremony? (For instance, a bride who can sing well might dedicate a song to the groom or vice versa). And again: Is it a civil or religious ceremony? Where will it take place? And then the reception. Is it lunch or dinner? These are anything but trivial matters, because preparing this phase well means delivering a wedding video that fully meets the expectation of the couple. - THE GEAR AND THE TEAM
The gear is also decisive to deliver a good wedding film. Extra batteries, for instance, are necessary to avoid losing important moments like the throw of the bouquet. The drone can capture unique moments, a double team of photographers helps with timing and effectiveness. In the case of Sara and Nicola’s wedding, one team looked after the preparations at Sara’s house, while the other those at Nicola’s. The result was a video that was able to convey very well the emotions that the couple experienced. - THE MOMENTS
There are moments in a wedding that absolutely must be included. And not only that, but they must also be captured and told in an exemplar way. For instance, I like to juxtapose the exchange of the rings with the emotions on the faces of the friends and families. - SPONTANEITY
I always try to convey the authenticity, so I always ask the couple to be as natural as possible, to be comfortable even in such an important day. - THE IMAGE QUALITY
